Back in the Saddle!

Hello? Anyone still here? Yes, I realize it’s been ages since my last post and I apologize for being a total slacker. What could possibly keep me away, you might ask? Well, I wish I could say that I’ve been secretly traveling the horse show circuit or working as an undercover reporter in the streets of Paris or anything more exciting that the actual truth. I have been working. A lot!

My day job is a graphic designer for a local church’s youth department and I’ve taken on a job as Art Director of an equestrian design firm called Horsefly Group. It’s been so much fun being able to combine my passions for art and horses, but it has definitely added a lot to my daily workload. The time I’d normally spend brainstorming and writing for the blog is now my design time and it’s been great so far.

So how is Dancer, you might ask? Well, he’s probably enjoying his summer hiatus, thinking he must have dome something really clever to convince me to essentially put a halt in our training. And to top it all off, he gets a beer with his grain! However, as clever as Dancer might believe he is, the real reason is that we’re both huge wimps when it comes to being out on the heat. We’ve both had heat strokes in the past few years and the intense heat doesn’t work well for us. So, as much as I’d like to say that we’ve been hard at work, sadly that’s not the case. But I don’t think he minds the extra baths, peppermints and daily Guiness that this predicament has afforded him!

You may think I’ve just been sitting around on the computer all day, avoiding the heat, but I’ll have you know that I have been working hard at some new designs to my Etsy shop (coming soon!) and I compiled a big list of ideas for blogging this fall. I can’t wait to share some of these great DIY projects and product reviews with you! Thanks for coming back. I hope you’ll stick around for a while!

We are finally getting back to work!
