Fun In The Saddle!

What if breeches could be both comfortable and functional? Not just tolerable, but yoga pants comfortable. Even in a full seat! Am I dreaming? Nope!! I’m talking about F.I.T.S. breeches!

I recently received a pair of the “Duet” Full Seat breeches and I’m convinced that each pair should come with a warning label because you’ll never go back to anything else! From the moment I pulled them out of the package, I was instantly amazed at how soft the material was. I wasn’t sure how they’d fit because I have a really hard time finding full seats that actually fit me, but they felt custom made for me! Personal info if you’re curious about the fit: I’m 5’5″, around 120lbs and normally wear size 28 in breeches so the Small size fit great! Also, I’m built a bit like a string bean…hence the trouble finding full seats…they’re always baggy in the behind area!

So now that we’ve established that they’re basically the most comfortable breeches ever right from the start (I didn’t want to take them off… they’re that comfortable really!), let’s talk about in the saddle comfort! I’ve ridden in breeches with segmented patches and I’ve had issues with the seams rubbing. Not the case here! Somehow they managed to create a cut that doesn’t bunch up and doesn’t rub in any areas. I’ve also had full seats that are a bit too sticky, but these provide just the right amount of grip.

But what about riding in the heat? I will tell you that my first ride in these was on a humid 80-degree day just before a thunderstorm rolled into our area. I normally sweat under my half chaps in those conditions, but the mesh around the inner calves helped keep me cool. The same mesh is used around the abs to help smooth out that area. Another added bonus? Perforated patches! I also really like black fabric euroseat that helps to blend the segmented patches. It also helps keep you cool by eliminating the massive amount of solid leather (or synthetic material) used in regular full seat areas. Another minor worry of mine was that the closures above the zipper would rub like another pair of zip-up breeches I own. When I wear said pair, I have to tuck in my shirt or suffer the consequences! I don’t know if it’s the shape or positioning, but these didn’t give me any trouble!

Should I go on? All right, if you insist… This one may be TMI, but the lack of any leather or seams in the crotch area makes a huge difference in the rider’s comfort level. Just sayin’! And those underwear lines we try so hard to hide? No worries here – somehow this fabric conceals those like magic!

Can’t believe this breech actually exists? I admit I had heard many great things and was a bit skeptical as well. Every time someone raved about them, I thought they must be exaggerating. How could one brand be so amazing? Well, it does exist and I suggest you do yourself a huge favor and purchase a pair the next time you get the chance!
