Equestrian Picnic!

Temperatures are finally dropping in the sauna that we call Oklahoma! That means more riding time (finally!), cozy sweaters, changing leaves and pumpkin everything! I am definitely excited to spend more time outdoors and put together a list of everything you need for an equestrian themed picnic! Whether it’s at the barn, your local park or even your own backyard, picnics are a great way to relax after a day in the saddle. Besides delicious food and drinks (pumpkin spice latte anyone?), everything you need for your al fresco adventure is listed below…

EquestrianPicnicCollage

1. A great picnic basket like THIS ONE is a must! Or you could go modern with a convenient PICNIC BACKPACK!

2. Picnic blanket from Pendleton (Or try this slightly cheaper option from L.L. Bean)

3. Thomas Paul melamine plates

4.  This vintage-look wine bottle opener from Pottery Barn

5. Some great tunes broadcast from your iPod with this portable wooden speaker

6. Equestrian reading material…

7. A great game like HORSE SHOES is a perfect low-key game to follow your relaxing meal

8. Then end your picnic experience with a nice warm cup of coffee! This Klean Kanteen insulated bottle can keep it hot for up to 6 hours!

9. Don’t forget your stylish equestrian mug!

10. And these delicious Dark Horse Chocolates for dessert

Now get out there and enjoy that crisp fall air with someone you love! And don’t forget to invite your human friends! 😉

I love those plates! You could even bring an apple & oats/barley crumble pie too! My horse would love to eat that. Haha

This could even be fun to do in the barn/stables- if they are clean enough!
