My Interview with Equine Journal

I try not to get on Facebook too much during the day. I don’t want to become too dependent on social media and I’m usually super busy at work. But, when I do need a 5 minute mental break, I usually either check Facebook or Pinterest. A few weeks ago, I happened to pull up my Facebook page and noticed a call for volunteers in Tulsa to be interviewed by Equine Journal. I’ve been a Facebook fan of theirs for a while, so I was excited to have the opportunity to contribute to their magazine. I guess not many fans of theirs live in Tulsa or maybe they just missed the post. Either way, I got the gig!

A few days later, I received a phone call from Elisabeth, who was incredibly nice and a joy to speak with. (Check out her equestrian travel blog HERE) She asked me about all of the major equestrian events in town, fun places to go, top restaurants and anything else that people might find interesting about our city. I was prepared with all of my favorites and felt that our interview went well! Ryan and I have hosted various friends and family from other states and have found that most of our favorites tend to be a big hit with them as well. And there are a few unique spots that I just had to include! After the interview, I snapped a few photos at Elisabeth’s request and waited for the draft! When I received it, I was very pleased with what I read and now I can finally share the finished article with everyone else!

CLICK HERE to view the digital copy of Equine Journal’s August issue. I enjoyed reading about everything from various types of bits to a feature on Cavalia (someday, I will attend this amazing show!). But I do have a special fondness for the article that begins on page 75!

And here are a few photos I took for Elisabeth that didn’t make it in the article:
