Pinteresting Finds #4! Get crafty!

OK, I admit it – I am a big fan of DIY! My grandma had a business re-doing old antiques and I would often help her and my mom with projects when I was a kid. My mom is super crafty and when you throw in weekly episode of “Trading Spaces”, summer time when I was growing up often included some great projects. My favorite (yes, I’m a little biased) was the set of jumps my mom and I built ourselves! So, when I started college and wanted to get involved with a local organization, Habitat for Humanity was a no brainer for me. After years of wielding a hammer, I was ready to tackle those houses! And I didn’t just stick to hammering like the other girls, you could find me either on the roof or with a chainsaw in my hands. Yes, I meant business! And I’m always looking for a new project – especially if it’s equestrian themed! Here are a few I’d love to try…

1. Blanket bars – I have quite an accumulation of old blankets that I use every now and then, but the large plastic bin I store them in isn’t very convenient. I could probably get the supplies to make on of these at Lowe’s (pvc pipe, chain) for half the price of buying one!

2. Storage bins for the tack room – I love these vintage styled locker baskets and think they’d be perfect for tack room storage!

3. Dressage arena letters – I’ve seen people use Citrasolv to transfer images onto fabric and wood. I’d love to try it out someday to make customized Dressage arena letters! CLICK HERE for a great tutorial!

4. Soda can solar heater – this has fascinated me ever since I saw it about a year ago. Still haven’t tried it but it’s on my list! It would be amazing if it actually worked!
