Thankful for…

Thanksgiving is often a forgotten holiday, wedged somewhere in between Halloween and Christmas. While I admit that I don’t enjoy the main course at Thanksgiving, I am always grateful to spend the day with those I love. And, because my wedding anniversary is so close to Thanksgiving, I have even more to be thankful for! Some years, our anniversary is on the same day as Thanksgiving, so we’ve started a new tradition of celebrating in New Mexico at the Rancho de Chimayo restaurant, which is always amazing!

So in the spirit of thankfulness, here’s an equestrienne’s list of things that have brought me joy in 2013:

  • My family – they’ve always supported my horsey habit in so many ways and I love them all so much! I’m thankful for the experiences they’ve provided for me and for being the best cheerleaders a girl could have! And my husband, Ryan, who does an amazing job at encouraging me and helping me out in any way he can – even feeding, turning out and various chores he never dreamed he’d have to do!
  • My horse – partners for 16 years and counting! He’s the same ornery foal that stuck his head through the stall bars to nibble at me when I passed by and I wouldn’t change him for anything! He’s taught me a ton of lessons and brought me great joy!
  • Dancer is now living with us! – My childhood dream of living in a barn finally came true and the missing piece – Dancer – arrived this summer. I love having him so close!
  • My trainer – Anthea Kin is an amazing, caring, patient woman with a wonderful sense of humor. I truly believe she’s the best at what she does and I’m honored to be her student!
  • See Horse Design – I re-designed and re-branded my graphic design business earlier this year and I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out! I’m looking forward to growing my business and adding more to my Etsy store in 2014!

There it is folks! I feel very blessed as I read through this list and think about how much each one means to me. And now it’s your turn! What are you thankful for this year?
