ABC’s…that sparkle!

As a graphic designer, I’ve become a little bit obsessed with typefaces. I can spot the good, the bad, and the ugly (we’re looking at you, Comic Sans and Papyrus) from at least 5,000 pixels away. Did I lose you? I apologize for my cheesy design humor.

Anyway, if you have kids, I’m sure you probably have a set of Alphabet letters. Maybe they’re stuck on your fridge, tucked into a cute wooden puzzle, or even made of felt. No matter which version you choose, your child will learn them just the same. But, what if I told you that you could entice your kids to practice with them more often by adding some sparkle? Maybe their favorite color? What kid doesn’t like glitter, am I right?

Hold on, did I scare you away when I mentioned the “G” word? I admit the word “glitter” makes me shudder a little too. Maybe you’re the same way? But this is the perfect kind of glitter because it’s completely contained within the letters! No need to worry about a glitter explosion here. These have all the glitter with none of the mess!

Sparkly, colorful, confetti letters seem to be everywhere right now and I had a feeling they would be just the thing to motivate my active daughter to actually sit and go over them with me! Turns out, I was right! I worked with Paige from Landscape of Paige to customize a set of letters that are purple (Hattie’s favorite color – she is obsessed!) and we added a little glitter and confetti to make them even more fun. When Hattie opened the bag, her eyes got big and she said “WHOA!!!” and smiled a huge, happy smile. She couldn’t wait to get them out! Success!!

I created a cute alphabet printable for her to use for matching the letters in both uppercase and lowercase. I opted to order uppercase letters this time but may end up ordering lowercase in the future. For now, I let her practice matching the letters to upper and lowercase printables. These letters even came with a set of numbers, which is so perfect for preschool and young kids. I made a little printable for letters too so that she could practice those with her letters. That one is meant to go inside of a clear sheet protector so you can use the bottom part for addition and subtraction. Just choose addition or subtraction and draw it in the little box with a dry erase marker. Then, use the numbers to practice.

Don’t worry, I didn’t just mention fun printables and forget to upload them for you. I’ve linked the files for you to download below and also on the shop page. Available in purple and green. Let me know if you use them, and be sure to check out Paige’s shop on Etsy to order some fun letters of your own!
