Style Trend: Horse Prints!

Over the past year I’ve noticed that the horse print trend has almost become as popular as the (now famous by Portlandia) “put a bird on it” trend! Horse print clothing items are everywhere! Now, before I go any further, I must admit that I own quite a few of these myself. When I spotted a burgundy dress with white horses last year, I got so excited! At the time, I pretty much never saw anything with a horse on it, unless it was geared for little girls, and I knew I had to have it! So, as the months went on and more horsey prints started popping up, I knew it was definitely catching on! Here are my favorites so far…

Anthropologie horse print over stripes. (currently on sale in stores)  The moment I tried this on, I knew I had to take it home with me! The cut was very flattering and, most importantly, it was super comfortable! I knew I could wear it under cardigans going into spring and by itself into summer. I was so excited to see this horse print 3/4 sleeve shirt at my favorite store – and while shopping with my best friend and fellow horse lover! Needless to say, we both got one! (Not sure yet if we’ve managed to wear them on the same day, but it wouldn’t be the first time. We had quite a few strange, very unplanned, twin days in middle school!)

Joules…. that’s all you have to say, really. I may be biased, but I LOVE everything with their label on it. Doesn’t matter if it has a horse on it or not! Their floral prints are gorgeous and I love my “Holgate” polo that I received as a Christmas gift last year. I gravitate toward their bold prints and bright colors – and it’s usually the first page that gets marked in my SmartPak catalog! While you’re checking out their website, be sure to browse the home and kid’s sections. Love them all!! [CLICK HERE TO BUY]

Wanna bring your horse prints straight to the barn? Check out Kerrits’ new ventilator jersey! You can’t go wrong with Kerrits and these jerseys are perfect in almost any kind of weather! I like to wear mine under v-neck sweaters in the winter to minimize the cold sweaty feeling you get during and after a long ride on a cold day. In the spring, pair it with a vest or under your favorite barn jacket. They’re also great for keeping you cool and dry on warm summer days! How can you go wrong? [CLICK HERE TO BUY]

So, you’re still not convinced that this is a trend worth investing in? Well, don’t take my word for it! These celebrities have already jumped on board! (Kourtney Kardashian, AnnaSophia Robb, Leona Lewis & Mindy Kaling)

My advice? Be bold! Incorporate one horse print into your wardrobe and then mix and match until your heart’s content!
